Manchester City striker soon costumed Leicester

One more step Manchester City’s young striker Kelechi Iheanacho will be in Leicester City uniform. The Nigerian has undergone medical tests with The Foxes at Belvoir Drive on Tuesday (1/8/2017) local time.

The progress was reached after Manchester City and Leicester met the 25 million pound price agreement for Iheanacho. At King Power Stadium, Iheanacho will be awarded a four-year contract.

According to The Telegraph report, Iheanacho will soon officially become a Leicester player within the next 48 hours. Leicester also agreed to pay Iheanacho 70 thousand pounds per week. That number is double that received in City after signing a new contract last summer.

Nevertheless, the City did not remove the player just like that. The Citizens persuaded Leicester to enter a buyback or buyback clause worth 50 million pounds (equivalent to Rp 880 billion). Of course with City being the first option to buy back the 20-year-old player.

However, if Leicester fails to Champions League within four or five seasons ahead, Iheanacho’s selling price can be much cheaper, and of course if City still wants it back.

By recruiting Iheanacho, Leicester beat some of its competitors, such as Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United, as well as Ligue 1 champion AS Monaco also wanted it.
